Amanda Simpson is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on March 26, 1961 in Chicago, Illinois, United States. Amanda Simpson (born March 26 in 1961) is Vice-President of research and Technology at Airbus Americas and was previously the Vice Assistant Secretary for Defense to Operational Energy. Operational Energy refers to the energy that is required to train, move and maintaining the military force and platforms for weapons in military operations. It is the term used to describe energy utilized by generators, power systems logistics assets, weapons platforms used by troops during training as well as on the field. In the past, Simpson served as the executive director of the U.S. Army Office of Energy Initiatives (OEI) (previously known as”the Army Energy Initiatives Task Force) in charge of the Army’s efforts to develop massive renewable energy initiatives. Her first assignment within the Army was as the Special Assistant to the Army Acquisition Executive. In this position, she was the principal advisor for The United States Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition Logistics, Logistics, and Technology on all issues pertaining to Army acquisition procurement, research and development, and logistics. After her appointment to the post that of the Senior Technical Advisor at the Bureau of Industry and Security in 2010 she was the first transgender woman to be an openly elected to any political post in any President’s administration. Simpson was employed by the United States Department of Defense. She is Jewish.

Simpson was an executive director of missions as well as a project pilot in the captive flight test program from 1988 until taking charge of the Director of Flight Operations in 1993. She was the Director of Flight Operations for the Integration, Test and Analysis Laboratory at Hughes Missile Systems. As system test pilot, she flew with the T-39 Sabreliner and Douglas A-3 Skywarrior to support research and development in the field of missile seeker technology at Hughes Aircraft and Raytheon Missile Systems. Additionally, she flew many large transport aircraft as well as light multi-engine and single engine aircraft that were modified to test missile flight.

Simpson moved into project management in 1999, overseeing the daily operations of small Raytheon, Texas Instruments Defense Systems & Electronics Group, and Standard Missile Company projects that had been relocated to Tucson as part of the corporate merger.

Simpson served as a commissioner on the City of Tucson Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Commission from 2001 until 2008, representing Councilwoman Carol West.

Simpson completed her bachelor of Science in Physics from Harvey Mudd College in 1983 and she earned her Masters of Science in Engineering from California State University, Northridge in 1988 through an Hughes Aircraft Fellowship, and her MBA from the University of Arizona in 2001 through an Raytheon Fellowship.

In 1989 she co-founded Processional Pilot Training, a fixed based operation at the Burbank, Glendale, Pasadena Airport (KBUR) focused on flight instruction (Private through Airline Transport) taught by professional flight instructors. She relinquished her ownership share of that business when she relocated to Tucson, Arizona in 1994.
