Fisher was born in Cheshunt, 24 February 1968. She grew up in Tonbridge in Kent. When she was 7, Fisher began playing snooker. At the age of 17, she won her first ever world title. She has won more than 80 national titles and 11 international titles to date. She tried several times to qualify for the main Men’s snooker tour in the 1980s. There were around 128 players then. These attempts failed. The tour had drastically changed by 1991. All players needed to pay an entry fee to be a professional on the main tour. Over 500 players participated in qualifying rounds for ranking tournaments. She was not able to move up the rankings lists, and she had lost her professional status by 1997. She felt she was not treated with the same respect as male players and moved to the United States to participate in the WPBA Tour. She endorsed the Delta-13 billiard rack on 18 March 2009 and has her own signature series.
