Bradshaw began her professional career in 1999 in the qualifying competition for Acura Classic San Diego. However, she lost to German Anke huber. She spent the next year primarily on the Satellite Tour, but she entered again the qualifying competition for San Diego’s tournament. Anne Kremer lost in the second round. Greta Arn defeated her in the second qualifying round of the WTA Philadelphia tournament. She was also eliminated. She made her Grand Slam singles debut in 2000 at the US Open. Bradshaw received one of the wildcards awarded to American players, and was therefore allowed to enter at the first round. In the first round, she defeated Sarah Pitkowski (ranked 46 in the world), before defeating Marissa Irvin (75) in the second round. She lost the third round to Arantxa Sanchez Vicario, the world number nine, 7-6(2), 6-1.
