Thiessen was a member of the University of Alberta’s curling team between 2011 and 2015. Thiessen was second on the team between 2011 and 2012, alternate from 2013 to 2014, and lead in 2015. In 2011, 2012, and 2013, her skip was Kelly Erickson. From 2013 to 2015, she was Rocque. The team lost in tiebreakers at the 2011 CIS/CCA Curling Championships as well as the 2012 CIS/CCA Curling Championships. They would lose the final at the 2013 and 2014 CIS/CCA Curling Championships. They would win the CIS/CCA Curling Championships 2015 with their final victory.
Thiessen was the lead for Erickson in her first provincial championship. After losing all three games, the team was eliminated. Thiessen was appointed as the Kristie Moore rink’s lead for the next season. They lost all three of their Grand Slam of Curling games in the 2014 Curlers Corner Curling Classic.
Thiessen is married to fellow curler Bradley Thiessen. The pair were married in 2016 and had a curling-themed wedding. She has two older sisters who also curl. Thiessen works as a recreation therapy manager for the South Terrace Continuing Care Home. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Recreation from the University of Alberta in 2015.
