He is best known as the ring name Zumbido (Spanish meaning “Buzz”) He worked in both Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre and AAA during his career. However, he is currently working on the Mexican independent circuit. Zumbido is close to Los Guapos (“The Handsome Ones”), a band he was a part of in both AAA and CMLL.
Guapos VIP, Shocker, Scorpio, Jr., and Zumbido participated in the main event, a 12-man Elimination Match for the Rey de Reyes Trophy. Guapos VIP were eliminated first after Shocker was counted. Guapos VIP also added Alan Stone shortly after the Rey de Reyes Event. Triplemania XIV saw Guapos VIP lose to El Angel, El Intocable and Octagon. Shocker then left AAA. Guapos VIP was left by Shocker. They began a feud against Brazo de Plata (also known as “Super Porky”, as they thought he was “too hideous and touch”. This feud saw Guapos VIP defeat Brazo de Plata El Intocable El Oriental and El Zorro at the 2006 Verano de Escandalo PPV. In 2007, Zumbido and Alan Stone joined forces to compete in a tournament that determined the first AAA World Tag Team Champions. The team reached the 2007 Rey de Reyes finals, losing to The Black Family (Dark Ozz and Dark Cuervo) in a match which also featured The Mexican Powers (Crazy Boy & Joe Lider), Real Fuerza Aerea(Pegasso) and Super Fly. In 2007, Alan Stone, along with his brothers Chris Stone (and Super Calo) formed Los Bello Stones. They had a similar “metrosexual” gimmick to Guapos VIP. Los Guapos brought Decnnis in to even the playing field between the two groups. Verano de Escandalo 2007, Guapos VIP defeated Los Bello Stones, in one of the featured matches. Guapos VIP and Los Bello Stone fought in the 2007 Guerra de Tigres Steel Cage Match. Zumbido was the first man out of the cage, and was forced to observe Scorpio Jr. get his hair cut after losing the Guapos VIP match.
In 2008 Zumbido and Scorpio, Jr. left AAA in 2008 as they were unhappy with how little they got paid. Originally both Decnnis and El Guapito left AAA as well, announcing that Los Guapos was now an independent grup. Within a few days of announcing that they were leaving AAA Decnnis and Guapito returned to AAA. Following the return to AAA of Decnnis and Guapito and an injury to Scorpio, Jr. Los Guapos disbanded with both Zumbido and Scorpio, Jr. focusing on their singles careers. Zumbido has stated that he would like to return to CMLL and has been in negotiations with the company but nothing has come of it yet. While on the Independent circuit Zumbido has worked both for International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG) and Perros del Mal Producciones, On March 20, 2009 Zumbido promoted his own wrestling event called Zumbimania where he lost a Lucha de Apuesta to El Intocable in the main event.
Shocker, Scorpio, Jr., and Bestia Salvaje created a stable called Los Guapos (“The Handsome Ones”) in 2001. Zumbido was invited to join the group, but he sustained an injury before he could team up with Los Guapos. After his return to the ring, he teamed with Violencia and Doctor X. However, he lost to Safari, Olimpico, and La Fiera undercard at the CMLL Apocalypsis PPV. Guapos U was created by Los Guapos in 2003. This storyline inspired by Reality Show allowed young hopefuls to compete for a place in the Los Guapos group. Zumbido and Ricky Marvin developed a rivalry during the storyline. This rivalry led to Zumbido being kicked out the Guapo U group for fighting. Zumbido and Rivera met during a Lucha de Apuesta Match where both wrestlers were on the line. Both wrestlers were forced to shave their hair after the match, which ended in a draw. After the Ricky Marvin story ended, Zumbido formed a regular tag team with Super Crazy. They teamed up to compete in a tournament for Mexico’s vacant National Trios Championship. However, they lost to El Felino Jr., Safari Jr. and Volador Jr. Zumbido attacked his partner after a match in early 2004, to show his transformation to Rudo (bad guy). Zumbido defeated Super Crazy in Lucha de Apuesta, April 30, 2004. After that, he cut the hair from Super Crazy’s head.
