Zuluzinho is one of the most popular and richest Mixed Martial Artist who was born on May 19, 1978 in São Luís, Maranhão, Brazil. Wagner da Conceicao Martins, born May 19, 1978, better known as Zuluzinho (Portuguese pronunciation of [zulu’zinu]), is a Brazilian vale-tudo fighter. He is the son Vale Tudo legend Casemiro Nacimento Martins (“Rei Zurlu”) Wagner was raised in the home of his grandmother. He works as a security guard at a variety of reggae clubs throughout northern Brazil. He followed in the footsteps of his father and trained in Brazilian jiujitsu as well as vale tudo. Zuluzinho is a purple belt in Brazilian jiujitsu under black belt Ricardo Bulldog Candido Gomes. He also serves as his MMA coach.

31/12/2007 – Zuluzinho won the greatest win of his career, stopping Ikuhisa “The Punk”, Minowa in three rounds at K-1 Japan.

On July 7, 2008, Zuluzinho was knocked out by fellow super heavyweight Guigao Guigao at DDG-Desafio de Gigantes 10. In the semi-final match, Zuluzinho’s 63 -year-old father, Rei Zulu, lost by a disqualification to Santos Samurai.

He saw his winning streak snapped when he lost by 1st-round TKO to Ibragim Magomedov at FightForce – Russia vs. The World on April 19, 2008.

He was defeated by Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira via armbar in round one of the Pride Open Weight Grand Prix.
