Zulhasnan Rafique is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on September 20, 1954 in Selangor, Malaysia. Zulhasnan bin Raffique (Jawi dhwlhsnn.bn.rfyqwy, born 20 September 1954) was a Malaysian politician. He is also the former Minister for Federal Territories. He was a former Member of the Parliament of Malaysia for Wangsa Maju, Setiawangsa and Kuala Lumpur constituencies. He also served as a supreme member of the United Malay National Organisation(UMNO), which is the largest component party of the previous ruling coalition Barisan Nasional.
Zulhasnan was sworn in as Federal Territories Minister on 16 February 2006. Zulhasnan was responsible for the creation of a strategic plan which focused on developing plans for each Federal Territories. He was again elected as a Member to Parliament in the 2008 elections. Najib Abdul Razak, the 6th Prime Minster, removed him from the new cabinet. Barisan Naional did not choose him to retest the Setiawangsa Seat in the 2013 Election.
Mohd Isa Abul Samad was the first to be appointed as minister. Isa was convicted of corruption in relation to money politics at the 2005 UMNO General Assembly Election. Shahrizat Abdul Jalil, then the Minister for Women, Family and Community Development, assumed the role of acting minister, until a replacement was found.

Zulhasnan was a fighter pilot in the Royal Malaysian Air Force and retired as Major in 1985. Before entering politics, he was also a Squadron leader in other countries.
Zulhasnan made his debut in 1999 Malaysian general elections and won the Wangsa Maju constituency to become a Member of Parliament. He was elected to the Setiawangsa Parliamentary seat in 2004’s general election. After a cabinet reshuffle led by Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi on 27 March 2004, the Federal Territory and Klang Valley Planning and Development Division became a fully-fledged Ministry. It was now responsible for the entire territory of Labuan, Putrajaya. Zulhasnan was first to be appointed as a deputy minister to the ministry.
He was appointed as the Malaysian Ambassador to the United States, replacing Awang Adek Hussin in December 2016. But he resigned in April 2018 to contest in the 2018 election the Setiawangsa constituency again. Following the huge swing of votes to the now-governing coalition Pakatan Harapan, he lost and failed to win back his former parliamentary seat.
