Zhou Zhongge, Chinese: Zhou Zhong Ge; born 15 February 1967, is a former high jumper and coach in Chinese track and field. His personal best was 2.33m (7 ft 7 1/2 in), which he set in 1990. He was both the 1990 Asian Games gold medallist and 1998 Asian Games silver medallist. He was the Asian Athletics Championships winner in 1998.
His successes after 1998 were limited to the national level. His career record now stands at four, with two more national titles won in 2000 and 2001. At the 2001 Chinese National Games, he came second in a final in which all medallists reached the same height of 7.4 in (7.24 m). He narrowly missed out a gold medal by countback. His season’s best was 2.22m (7 ft 3/4 in) in Hyderabad, his last season of competition.
He was a four-time national champion and represented his country at both the 1991 World Championships in Athletics in Athletics as well as Asia at the 1998 IAAF World Cup. After retiring from competition, he became a coach and helped Zhang Shufeng win a continental medal.

He was born in Beijing. He attended Chaoyang District school and became the national high-school champion in high jump in 1986. He won his first national title in Chinese Athletics Championships at age 23. He set a lifetime record and championship record of 2.33m (7 ft 7/2 in) to succeed Liu Yunpeng. He was selected for the 1990 Asian Games in Beijing. This earned him the gold medal. He cleared 2.26m (7ft 4/4in) to defeat Takahisa Yoshida from Japan and his national rival Liu. As Zhu Jianhua won the previous two editions, this win makes it three consecutive victories for China at that event.
Zhou was one of two selected at the 1991 World Championships in Athletics. Both jumpers reached 2.20m (7 ft 2/2 in) in qualifying round but failed to advance. After 1991, he did not compete at a top level. His only notable performance was a third-place finish in the 1993 Chinese Games. He finished behind Xu, Bi Hongyong, and Xu.
His return to form came in the 1998 season. He claimed the second national title of his career, topping the field with a clearance of 2.28 m (7 ft 5 ⁄4 in). He regained his place as the continent’s top jumper by winning the gold medal at the 1998 Asian Athletics Championships in July, getting the better of Lee Jin-Taek of South Korea and Malaysian Loo Kum Zee. His winning mark of 2.30 m (7 ft 6 ⁄2 in) was among the best of his career and the best performance at the championships since Zhu Jianhua’s 1983 victory. He attempted to take his second continental title of the year at the 1998 Asian Games but his jump of 2.23 m (7 ft 3 ⁄4 in) in the final was not enough to beat Lee and he finished with a silver medal. In his last international outing that year, he placed fifth for Asia at the 1998 IAAF World Cup.
