Zhou Ting is one of the most popular and richest Chinese footballer who was born on February 5, 1979 in Dalian, Liaoning, China. Zhou Ting, Chinese: Zhou Ting; pinyin Zhou Ting; born February 5, 1979), is a Chinese footballer who plays for the Chinese Super League side Dalian Yifang. He was the first to be awarded 100 yellow cards by the Chinese first-tier league.
Zhou signed a contract with Qingdao Etsong Hainiu, a Chinese Super League team in December 2003. Yunnan Hongta had accepted a transfer fee of 6 million Y. After Yunnan Hongta’s sale and merger with Chongqing Lifan was completed, Zhou signed a pre-contract with Qingdao Etsong Hainiu. His transfer fee was reduced to Y=2.8million on 17 January 2004. Zhou was included in the transfer list after Jonoon Group took over the club at the end 2004 season. In January 2005, he was transferred to Shenzhen Jianlibao, the Super League defense champion.
On 13 February 2017, Zhou transferred to his hometown club Dalian Yifang in the China League One. On 11 March 2017, he made his debut for the club in a 2–0 away win over Meizhou Hakka. He scored his first goal for Dalian on 12 August 2017, in a 1–1 away draw to Wuhan Zall. He quickly established himself within the team’s defence, scoring two goals in 25 appearances, and helped win the division championship to promoted back to the Chinese Super League with the club. On 1 September 2018, Zhou scored in a 4–3 win against Shandong Luneng Taishan, overtaking Festus Baise as the Chinese first-tier league’s oldest scoring player at 39 years and 208 days. On 23 November 2019, he broke the record of the oldest appearing player at 40 years and 291 days, which was previous held by Rolando Schiavi since 2013.
Zhou Ting’s versatility to play on both flanks earned him a call up to the senior team. The friendly against Chile was played on August 20, 2003, and ended in a 0-0 draw. Zhou Ting, under the Chinese head coach Arie Haan would become a regular player within the team. He would also be part of the squads that participated at the 2003 East Asian Football Championship, FIFA World Cup qualifying, and the team that finished runners-up at the 2004 AFC Asian Cup.

Zhou Ting was a member of the Chinese Jia-A League Dalian Wanda youth club in 1994. His senior career began in 1997, when he was loaned out to Shenzhen Kinspar second-tier club with the gratitude of Gai Zengjun. He made his senior debut against Shenyang Haishi on 19 July 1997 in a 3-3 draw at home. In 1997, he played six league matches and then returned to Dalian Wanda for 1998. Zhou was expelled from the team by Xu Genbao, his manager after the 1998 Far East Club Championship. Zhou joined Jia-A League Qianwei Huandao during summer 1998, but he left the club several month later because he had not fulfilled his pledged conditions.
Zhou signed a contract to join Chinese Jia-B League side Xiamen in 1999. He was coached by Chi Shangbin, former Dalian Wanda manager. In 1999 Chinese Football League Transfer Draft, Zhou was selected by Yunnan Hongta, another second-tier club. He quickly switched from attacking midfielder into left- back, and quickly became a part of the team. Yunnan was promoted to the first- tier after he played in 17 games. He remained with Yunnan Hongta through the 2003 season.

On 26 October 2014, he was booked by offending the referee in a 1–0 away win over Guangzhou Evergrande, making him the first player to receive 100 yellow cards in the Chinese first-tier league. On 10 May 2015, he claimed a goal against Changchun Yatai to set the record of the oldest native player to score in the Chinese Super League at 36 years and 94 days.
