Zhang Baoshun (Chinese : Zhang Bao Shun; born February 1950) was a former politician of the People’s Republic of China and the Communist Party Secretary of east China’s Anhui.

Zhang began his work in November 1968 and joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in April 1971. Zhang held various positions in Qinhuangdao’s harbor administration bureau, before he joined the Communist Youth League central committee. Zhang served as an alternate secretary to CYL central secretariat from December 1982 to November 1985 and was also the director of CYL’s department of workers youth and peasants youth. In November 1985, he was promoted to secretary of CYL central secretariat. The rank of vice-minister was also confirmed in November 1991. He attended correspondence courses at Renmin University of China from August 1982 to June 1987 and earned a degree in Marxism/Leninism theory. He was elected chairman of the Chinese Youth Association in November 1991 and secretary to the CYL central secretariat. He completed an on-the-job master’s in national economic planning at Jilin University from December 1989 to December 1991. Zhang was elected vice president of Xinhua News Agency in April 1993 and a member of the Party committee. Zhang was promoted to vice president and vice Party chief at Xinhua Agency in March 1998. He was vice secretary of CPC Shanxi Committee from September 2001 to January 2004. He was vice governor, acting governor, and then governor of Shanxi from January 2004 to April 2005. He has been secretary to the CPC Shanxi committee since July 2005 and was also chairman of Shanxi province People’s Congress from January 2006.
