Zeynep Karahan Uslu is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on July 11, 1969 in Istanbul, Turkey. In the 23rd year as the Deputy for Sanliurfa, she was re-elected to parliament. She is the third woman to be elected to the parliament from Sanliurfa. She was elected as the Head of the Turkish Delegation at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean. She is also a member of the Committee of Gender Equality.

She was elected “the youngest female parlamentararian” in 2002, representing Istanbul. She was also elected chairperson of the Turkish Group of Parliamentary Assembly of Europe and Mediterranean. She was also the spokesperson for the Environment Committee, Acting Chairwoman Turkey-Pakistan Inter Parliamentary Friendship Group, and Co-President Turkey-Italy Inter Parliamentary Cooperation Protocol during the 22nd Period (TBMM).

She taught at Istanbul University’s Department of Communications between 1991 and 1994. Between 1994 and 2002, she was a teacher in the School of Letters, Department of Sociology. Zeynep Karahan Uzlu was a Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) parliamentarian between 2002-2007. In 2007, she returned to academia and was the Director of the “Turkey Studies Centre” at Istanbul Aydin University, as well as teaching in the Department of Communications. She was named Associate Professor of Applied Communications in 2010. She was Vice- Chancellor of the TOBB Economy and Technology University from 2009 to 2011, and served as the department chair at the Department of Visual Communications, School of Fine Arts.

She graduated in 1990 from Istanbul University’s School of Communications with a major in journalism and public relation. In 1992, she completed her MA at the Institute of Social Sciences in the Department of Public Relations and Publicity. In 1998, she received her PhD in the same department.

Zeynep Karahan Uslu has been AK Party’s deputy chairperson responsible for Public Relations since 2003. She is also managing director of AK Communication Center (AKIM), which is the responsible body for the communication between the party and public. She is a member of the International Relations Department Advisory Board of AK Party and has been elected to Central Decision-Making and Administrative Committee of the AK Party in the 3rd General Congress. Uslu was appointed as the Vice President of R & D of AK Party in December, 2012.
