Zaw Win Htut is one of the most popular and richest Singer who was born on January 21, 1964 in Yangon, Yangon Region, Myanmar. Zaw Win Htut, Burmese: jeaawng.thtt; 21 January 1964), is a Burmese singer of hard rock. He is the founding member and lead singer of the band Emperor.

The motorcycle club of his “The Beasts”, is very well-known in the Myanmar Bike Industry. Many of the club members are actors and singers. In 2017 the club was founded. The members of the beastsMC are well-known business youth and some CEOs from major Myanmar business organizations.

Zaw Win Htut, like many Burmese pop stars, became well-known for his Burmese language cover of Western pop songs. These covers were written by “cover” songwriters such as Thukhamein Hlaing and Min Chit Thu and Win Min Htwe. This grandson of Shwe Ting Nyunt was embarrassed about it, unlike most Burmese pop singers. He once said that singing these songs was like wearing another’s shirt. He stated that his goal was making original music in a 2004 interview.

Zaw Win Htut started his music career as a drummer with Oasis. In the 1980s, he formed Emperor with five of his brothers: Zaw Myo Htut, Wai Tun (drums), Maung Maung Lewin (keyboards), John O’Hara and John O’Hara. In his early years, he was a rock and roll and country singer. His 1983 debut album, Mercury Night, was not a huge success. His three solo albums “New Road”, Comet, and “Power of Love”, were not a success. His 1989 greatest hits album, “The Bests Of Zaw Win Htut”, was a huge hit and made him a major rock star.

He chose to only make “original” albums (i.e. He decided to make only “original” (i.e., non-cover) albums during the mid 1990s. He was the Burmese artist who broke away from the traditional Burmese cover song pattern that so many Burmese musicians follow. A-Hnaing Me and Achit Mya Thu Si Mha did have some hits. While he continues to perform his popular cover songs in concert, he only performs the original songs at his overseas concerts. He admitted in a 2010 interview that he was unable to perform overseas concerts for many years due to not having enough original songs. He only began performing overseas concerts after he had enough songs. He also stated that he has performed more than 20 overseas concerts.

On 17 April 2020, Zaw Win Htut take a self Quarantine for Coronavirus disease 2019, during the COVID-19 pandemic, which he became the first self Quarantine patient public figure in Myanmar that reported to Duwun media.
