Yoshimi Ozaki is one of the most popular and richest Marathon Runner who was born on July 1, 1981 in Yamakita, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. Yoshimi Ozaki, Wei Qi Hao Mei, Ozaki Yoshimi was born July 1, 1981. She is a Japanese marathon runner. In a personal record time of 2:23:30, she won the 2008 Tokyo Women’s Marathon. She won the silver medal at the 2009 World Championships of Athletics a year later.

In February 2011, she ran the Yokohama Women’s Marathon and set a course record of 2:23.56. She also earned a spot in the Japanese World Championships squad. She finished 18th at the 2011 World Championships in Athletics in Daegu with a time 2:32:31. In November, she returned to the Yokohama women’s race but was defeated in the last stretch by Ryoko Kizaki. With a strong performance at the Nagoya Marathon in 2:24:14, she secured her place on the Olympic team. She was first Japanese to finish the race and finished second behind Albina Mayorova. She finished 19th in the 2012 Olympic marathon.

The 2013 Tokyo Marathon saw Ozaki finish as the top Japanese in fifth place.

She qualified for the 2009 World Championships in Berlin. She finished second with a time 2:25:25.25, just ten seconds ahead of Chinese winner Bai Xue. She finished second at the All Japan Corporate Team Half Marathon Championships

2010. However, her performance as the best Japanese athlete earned her a spot on the 2010 IAAF World Half Marathon Championships team. She placed ninth at Nanning’s championships, which was enough to win the Japanese women the bronze medal.
