Yogesh Joshi is one of the most popular and richest Poet who was born on July 3, 1955 in Mehsana, India. Joshi began writing poems in his school days. He ventured into other forms of literature, such as short stories and drama, during college. His first publication was in Bhumika, a Gujarati literary magazine edited and published by Aniruddh Brahmbhatt. It was later published under the name Kimapi. He has been the editor of Parab since 2002. It is a publication of Gujarati Sahitya Parishad.

Avaajnu Ajavalu (1984), Collection of poems, Samudi (1984), Novel), Motiba (1998); Biography and Adhakhuli Baari (2002); Collection of short stories are some of his most notable works. For his book Motiba, he was presented with the Narmad Suvarna Chaudrak award.
He won Narmad Suvarna Chandrak (1998) for his book Motiba. His short story collections Hajiye Ketlun Door (1993) and Adhakhuli Baari (2001) have been awarded by Gujarat Sahitya Akademi. He won the Govardhanram Tripathi Prize, Ghanshyamdas Saraf Sahitya Puraskar and Gujarat Sahitya Akademi Best Book Prize for his novel Vaastu. Vaastu was also awarded the Priyakant Parikh Prize of Gujarati Sahitya Parishad in 2001. His essay collection Antahpur (2002) was awarded by Kalagurjari Sanstha, Mumbai. His work Jesalmer (series of poems) was awarded the Ushnas Prize (2006–07). He is also a recipient of Dhanji Kanji Gandhi Suvarna Chandrak (1999).
His first anthology of poetry, Avaajnu Ajavalu was published in 1984. He then published Tejna Chaas (1991). His first novel Samudi, published in 1984 was followed by Jivtar (1987), Nahitar (91), Aarpaar(92), Vaastu (192001) and Bhina Pagla (2005). Hajiye Ketlun Door? His short stories collections Adhakhuli Baari (1993) and Adhakhuli Baari (2002) are his biographies. In 2002, his essays were published in Antahpur. In 2008, Harsh Brahmbhatt & Urmila Thakar published his short stories as Yogesh Joshi N Shreshtha Vartao. His translations include Mrutyuni Samipe (1987), and Patangni Pankhe (89).
