Yan Han is one of the most popular and richest Speed Skater who was born on March 6, 1996 in Harbin, China. A group of Chinese figure skaters became the focus of controversy in February 2011 when their birth dates, which were published on the Chinese Skating Association website, did not match those listed on their bio pages on the ISU website. This controversy led to a search for other discrepancies in the dates of birth of Chinese figure skaters. The Chinese website claimed Yan was born in 1994, despite Yan’s birth date being listed on ISU’s website as March 6, 1996. The State General Administration of Sports officials held a press conference in which they explained that the discrepancies were due to incorrect information from the Chinese website.

Yan attempted a triple Axel in the 2011-2012 season. Yan qualified for the 2011-12 Junior Grand Prix Final after he won gold at his JGP events held in Austria and Italy. He won the silver medal at the event in Quebec City, Canada despite having a fever. He was the 2012 Youth Olympics Champion in Innsbruck (Austria).

At the 2012 World Junior Championships, Yan became the first skater representing China to win the men’s junior world title.

The only athlete in his family, Yan started skating at the age of 5. He trained in Harbin until he relocated to Beijing in early 2012.

Yan was selected to participate in the 2010-11 ISU Junior Grand Prix events, which were held in Austria and Czech Republic. Yan qualified for the Junior Grand Prix Final in Beijing, China, after he won his JGP events. Yan won the silver medal in his country. He finished the season 6th at the 2011 World Junior Championships, Korea.

He was born March 6, 1996. He is a three time Four Continents bronze medalist (2013), 2015, 2016, and the 2013 Cup of China champion (2016), as well as a four-time Chinese national champion (2010), 2011, 2018, 2020.

Yan made his debut at the ISU Junior Grand Prix in the 2009-2010 season. His only assignment for the season was to win gold in Turkey at the ISU Junior Grand Prix. Due to a fracture injury, he was unable to compete in the 2010 World Junior Championships.

Yan started his season at the 2012 JGP Slovenia, where he finished fifth after a shattering fall on the quadruple toe loop in the free program. He then won silver, behind Maxim Kovtun at the 2012 JGP Croatia. He did not advance to the JGP Final.
