Hademine met Gong Xiaosheng, the Chinese Special Envoy for the Middle East Issues on May 19, 2015 to discuss bilateral relations. At an agriculture conference in December 2015, he stated that his government supports the International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas’ initiative to “expand the country’s wheat production to increase national food security and decrease dependence on increasing wheat imports.” He also spoke out to highlight bilateral relations with Gong Xiaosheng, the Chinese Special Envoy on the Middle East Issues. On October 29, 2018, he resigned as premiership.
Hademine was appointed to the premiership by President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz on August 21. Hademine took over from Moulaye Ould Mohammed Laghdaf who had served as Prime Minister since 2008. Hademine, who had been Prime Minister since 2008, pledged to increase women’s participation in economic, political and social development. His government was established three days after he was appointed.
He returned to Mauritania and began work for Societe nationale industrielle et miniere. This mines iron in Mauritania. In 1979, he was appointed head of a steel plant. Between 1985 and 1988, Hademine was Head of Department Purchases for SNIM. He was promoted to CEO of Arab Society of Iron and Steel in 1989. This is a subsidiary of SNIM. In 2008, Hademine was named general manager of Sanitation Maintenance and Transportation Works. Hademine stated that there were too many engineers at the SMTA, and that the quality of the work was poor. Hademine supported the coup leaders after the 2008 Mauritanian coup de’etat, which overthrew President Sidi Ould Cheikh Abdallahi. He was allowed to continue his job. Hademine was appointed Minister of Equipment and Transport in December 2010. He made no major changes during his four-year tenure as minister.
