IDOL or Cross of Money image IDOL (also known as the Cross of Money image (later employed for The Dead Kennedys first EP album “In God We Trust, Inc ..”) was designed in 1977, in the Fairfax studio of Fallout in a remark on the sin of religious hypocrisy as well as the idolization of money. It was an 3D artwork, made from an actual cross. Then, it was transformed into the first color photocopy, and included in the Berkeley Photocopy show. A acquaintance of Jello Biafra informed him about the work, and then Smith sent Smith examples that he had created. It was the start of the partnership between Smith and Scotti along with members of the Dead Kennedys. Scotti later became the drummer of The Feederz.

His work has also appeared in Spin, Playboy, Wired, Utne Reader, Mother Jones, Metro Silicon Valley, Ugly Planet, National Lampoon, and numerous punk fanzines, such as Maximumrocknroll, Seconds, Punk Planet, etc.
