Wim Scholtmeijer is one of the most popular and richest Korfball Player who was born on September 4, 1982 in The Hague, South Holland, Netherlands.
Scholtmeijer began his career at Assen. He quickly transferred to Nic. In the city of Groningen and after this to Fortuna, located in Delft. But he made his breakthrough at PKC, for whom he debuted in the Korfballeague, the worlds most prestigious korfball competition. In the 2006/07 season they reached the Korfballeaguefinale, which they unfortunately lost against DOS’46. The next season they finished forth in the Korfballeague, reaching fourth place in the play-offs as well. In the 2008/09 season he transferred once more to TOP, who debuted in the Korfballeague that year. However, it took the team two years TOP to win the Korfballeague and the Fieldtitle. Scholtmeijer has played a total of 46 interlands. He, together with the dutch national squad went on to dominate the international korfball scene, winning the Wereldkampioenschap twice and grabbing the gold at both the World Games and one European championship. In 2003, he was given the price of best player of the 2003 Wereldkampioenschap.
His career ended on the 13th of October 2011, due to a shoulderoperation. After training the Dutch national U23, he became coach of the Dutch national team in January 2014, succeeding Jan Sjouke van der Bos. Ter Bos got another job inside the KNKV as Mastercoach. Scholtmeijer also won the IKF world korfball championship as coach in 2015.

After attending the Haagse academy for physical education he came out for multiple clubs in the Korfball league and the Dutch national team. He became head coach for the U23 and became head coach of the national team in 2014, where he still remains in charge to this day.
