Wilson Reis is one of the most popular and richest Mixed Martial Artist who was born on January 6, 1985 in Januária, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Wilson Reis Monte Alto Goncalves (born 6 January 1985 from Januaria) is a Brazilian mixed martial artist who is a part of the Flyweight division. Reis was the previous EliteXC Bantamweight Champion and has also competed with UFC, Bellator, ShoXC and Cage Warriors. Reis was also an assistant Jiu-Jitsu instructor on the Dominick Cruz team in The Ultimate Fighter: Live.
Reis was awarded the black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under the instruction of teacher Roberto Godoi. Brown belt, Reis was the winner of his place at the 2004 Jiu Jitsu World Championships. Reis was named the first and sole EliteXC Bantamweight champion on the 26th in 2008. Training is at BJJ United, in Pennsylvania as well as at Daddis Fight Camps in New Jersey and Philadelphia. He taught Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as well as the No-gi style for the Tri-State Martial Arts Academy in Levittown, Pennsylvania. Reis was previously a competitor in the Bellator Fighting Championships. He participated for the first time in his home country Brazil at WFE 11 – Platinum, taking the title through submission.
Reis faced Deividas Taurosevičius on October 21, 2010, at Bellator 33. He won the fight via split decision.
Reis was scheduled to make his Japanese debut for World Victory Road at Sengoku 12 on March 7, 2010. However, Reis withdrew from the show in order to compete in season 2 of the Bellator Fighting Championships.
Reis made his debut as part of the EliteXC promotion in the ShoXC series back in January of this year. Later, he appeared on their main decks at EliteXC: Primetime and EliteXC Unfinished Business.

Reis next faced Scott Jorgensen on October 25, 2014, at UFC 179. He won the fight by submission in the first round. Reis hurt Jorgensen with a body kick and backed up in pain, then immediately after shot in and successfully got the takedown on Jorgensen and passed to mount where he secured to an arm-triangle choke where Jorgensen was forced to tap.
