William “Willie” Delgado (born October 31st 1956) is an former Democratic Senator from Illinois Senate serving the 2nd district from 2006 to June 2016. His first election was in the year 2006, and replaced Miguel del Valle, who was elected Chicago City Clerk. Prior to that, Delgado served in the Illinois House of Representatives from 1999 until 2006, and was then succeeded with Luis Arroyo.
On the 5th of January, 2015 Delgado declared that he was not running for re- election in Senate in Illinois Senate. He resigned from the Senate on June 30, 2016.
Delgado got elected for the first time in 1998. The top priorities of Delgado’s legislative agenda are reform in education along with economic development and the prevention of crime.
