Wayne Leonard Kirby (born January 22nd 1964) is an American professional right fielder for the baseball team and coach currently. He is currently the primary manager of the base for the San Diego Padres of Major League Baseball (MLB). He was the outfield/base-running coordinator for the Texas Rangers from 2006 through 2010. From 2011 until 2018 Kirby served as in charge of the Baltimore Orioles first base and outfield coach. Kirby’s younger brother is the former NFL player Terry Kirby.
After the 1990 season, Kirby was released and signed with Kirby’s team, the Cleveland Indians. In 118 games played for the AAA Colorado Springs Sky Sox, Kirby recorded an average of .294 average and hit the home run 39 RBI and 29 steals. As part of the draft for amateurs in Jan. 1983 Kirby received a selection in the 13th round with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Kirby was active in 60 games for in the 1982 Gulf Coast League Dodgers, recording an .292 batsman’s average, with thirteen runs batted into (RBI) as well as 23 bases stolen.
