Temple was officially home to only four members from the most popular lineup from Rata Blanca. Giardino opted to revive Rata Blanca and asked Gustavo Rowek and Sergio Berdichevsky to return to Rata Blanca, but they chose to stay with their own group Nativo. Fernando Scarcella stayed as the drummer of Rata Blanca and Giardino was the sole guitarist in the band. In the last few years Rata Blanca has released three more albums: El Camino of Fuego (The Way of the Fire) released in 2002. La Llave de la Puerta Secreta (The Secret Key to the Hidden Door) in 2005 as well as El Reino Olvidado (The Forgotten Kingdom) in the year 2008. The lyrics of La Llave de la Puerta Secreta were taken from The Da Vinci Code. To gain an international audience, Giardino approached former Rainbow singer Doogie White to make the English Version of his Forgotten Kingdom album in 2009. In 2015, Giardino released the 10th album Tormenta Electrica.

On August 2017, Giardino announced a tour for October and November 2017, with Rainbow singer, Ronnie Romero.

Giardino started a new project called Walter Giardino Temple that only released an album (1998) The band consisted of Norberto Rodriguez (vocals) Ruben Trombini (bass), Pablo Catania (keyboards) and Martin Carrizo (drums) later substituted with Fernando Scarcella. The group broke up following performing alongside Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple, Black Sabbath) when Walter Giardino was looking to play by himself due to the fact that the group did not know how to play “Burn”. After that, the remaining members of the group, with the exception of Scarcella started their own band called Quemar (Spanish meaning to “burn”). Temple was put on hiatus and Giardino worked with Spanish metal group Mago de Oz and then returned to Argentina. Giardino held a party and invited Adrian Barilari and Hugo Bistolfi to perform for a few nights together with Temple. Bassist Daniel Leonetti left the band and was replaced by Guillermo Sanchez (another Rata Blanca member). This was the start for the return to Rata Blanca.

V8 recruited Walter, Gustavo Andino (from Punto Rojo) and Miguel Roldan Another guitarist. While with V8 Walter wrote a few songs, but the band never accepted them or integrated them into the band. After six months of V8 V8’s bassist as well as leader Ricardo Iorio fired Walter. He then launched the new project along alongside another former V8 member, guitarist Gustavo Rowek.

In 1986, following the departure of V8, Giardino founded Rata Blanca with Gustavo Rowek (drums), Rodolfo Cava (vocals) and Yulie Ruth (bass) With this lineup, the band recorded the demo. After two years of rehearsals, the group debuted on stage at Teatro Luz y Fuerza located in Buenos Aires. The band enlisted Sergio Berdichevsky (rhythm guitar), Saul Blanch (vocals) and the band’s newly appointed bassist Guillermo Sanchez. The group ultimately recorded the debut self-titled album. The band released their debut album in

  1. Magos, espadas y rosas with Adrian Barilari on the vocals and Hugo Bistolfi as an official musician on the keyboard. The band’s era of this was their most successful. In 1992, they issued Guerrero del Arco Iris and in 1993 they released the album El Libro Oculto. Following this, Walter Giardino wished to move the band’s music into more a heavy sound. This was an something that was not agreed upon by Barilari and Bistolfi and made the decision to quit Rata Blanca. They were substituted with Mario Ian (vocals) and Javier Retamozo (keyboards). The band released the album in 1994 Entre el Cielo y el Infierno which was a record with heavier sound, much like bands such as Accept as well as Judas Priest. Ian was forced to leave in 1996 because of disagreements over the music with the group and Giardino began searching for a singer who had the same voice as Barilari. He finally found Gabriel Marian. VII was his next album but it didn’t gain any appreciation from fans. Late 1997, Giardino disbanded Rata Blanca.

The band was conformed by Rata Blanca members Danilo Moschen and Fernando Scarcella (also in the first era of Temple), and Pablo Motyzak. Javier Barrozo, current singer of Magnos, sang Temple original songs during the show. Giardino reunited with Turner in April 2016 and bring some shows in Argentina, Uruguay and Chile. For this presentations keyboardist Danilo Moschen was replaced by Javier Retamozo, a former member of Rata Blanca.
