In 2015, he’s an official scout for the Arizona Diamondbacks, based in Oviedo, Florida. He was an advance prospect for Yankees, Washington Nationals and Los Angeles Dodgers.

On the 22nd of December the 22nd of December 1987 Taylor was sold along alongside Lee Guetterman and Clay Parker to the New York Yankees in exchange for Henry Cotto and Steve Trout. After three full seasons within the Yankees minor league system, Taylor was called up in the beginning of June, 1991. Taylor began his first match on the 2nd of June against Milwaukee Brewers. Taylor was able to pitch 5.1 innings, and allowed 7 hits, and 4 earned. He also hit four Brewers who hitters, pitching effectively enough to be credit for winning the game during the Yankees 7-4 loss to Milwaukee.
