Waconzy was born on 10th august 1983, on the 10th of August 1983 in Port Harcourt, father and mother hail both from Port Harcourt where he basically was raised. Waconzy finished his primary and secondary schooling at Port Harcourt. The year 1998 was the time Waconzy created his very first single while still in high school. Waconzy made his debut commercial hit in 2000. Waconzy was admitted to the famous Federal University of Technology Owerri and graduated in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree of technology in project management. After having completed their NYSC training in the year 2006 Waconzy became a member of the institute for project management in America which he received certification as to be a Project Management Professional (PMP) and in 2008, he established up his own company Dv8 Media.

In 2013, during the sixth Annual World Music and Independent Film Festival Hollywood USA, Nigerian entertainer Anyanwu Obinna Kelvin better known as Waconzy was honored with an award for humanitarianism in recognition of his contribution to fighting malaria in Africa through his “Waconzy Zero Tolerance for Malaria’ campaign. He was recognized and was rewarded.
