Vusal Huseynov is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on January 12, 1980 in Baku, Azerbaijan. Vusal Huseynov was born January 12, the year 1980, in Baku. In the month of September 1997, Vusal Huseynov entered Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) in with the bachelor of Arts in Economics program. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree at the end of June, 2001. From September 2001 through June 2002 Vusal Huseynov was a participant in an extensive postgraduate course in environmental policy, focusing on the economics of environmental protection at the University of Slovakia, Bratislava at Academia Istropolitana Nova. The following year beginning his master’s studies at the Institute of Azerbaijan Economic Relations in September 2003. In June 2005, he received the master’s diploma from the department of International Economic Relations.

He took part in the John Smith Fellowship program (6 weeks) that focused on governance and leadership as an John Smith Fellow in United Kingdom and in the city that include Edinburgh in Scotland and London. In 2008, he was accepted into Baku State University, faculty of law. In 2012, he graduated with a full legal diploma equivalent to LLM. The year 2009 was the first time Vusal Huseynov joined two training programs that were specially designed for him. He was in July when he took part in the leadership course at the Central Eurosia Leadership Academy (CELA – www.celanetwork.org) in Turkey, Istanbul. Two months after, in September, he went to Germany for participation in the training in good governance and reform course organized by Passau University with a specialisation of the Economics of Corruption (http://www.icgg.org).

Vusal Huseynov served as advisor and later promoted to senior advisor post with department of Law Enforcement Coordination of the Administration of the President between the years 2011-2013. In 2013 he was appointed Secretary of the Anti-corruption Commission of Azerbaijan. During these years, he also acted as a national focal point for CoE project on Good Governance and Fight against Corruption (Eastern Partnership) implemented in Azerbaijan. In 2015, due to his election to the Parliament of Azerbaijan he left civil service and started a career within the legislative body.

Vusal Huseynov served as the national focal point of Open Government Partnership international initiative between the years of 2013-2016.

Vusal Huseynov began his teaching career at UNEC in the year 2006. He taught lectures on the subjects in International Economics as well as International Economic Institutions. The year 2008 was the time he gave seminars in Khazar University at the Law Department on the subject in the course Introduction to Economics.

Vusal Huseynov (born 12 January 1980) is an Azerbaijani public official who has been serving as the Head of the State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan since 23 April , 2018.

The year 2005 saw Vusal Huseynov was appointed adviser to Secretariat of the newly created Anti-Corruption Commission of Azerbaijan Republic. In his current position, the position also included acting as Secretary of the inter- agency working group for improvement of the law. The duties of the Secretary included liaison with government departments engaged in anti-corruption initiatives and media , as well as coordination with civil society organisations as well as international partners. He was an expert in the Council on State Support to NGO’s under the presidency of the Republic of Azerbaijan to evaluate every grant application that dealt with the governance area and combating corruption during the period 2008-2010 as the grant year. The responsibilities included the evaluation and monitoring of reports in the context of National Anti-Corruption Strategies. In 2011, with the position of senior advisor, he took an interruption within his civil services due to his studies in the USA.

In June 2010, Vusal Huseynov was admitted to Master of Public Administration (MPA) of Harvard University, John F. Kennedy School of Government. He was granted the scholarship for his studies within the framework of “State Program on education abroad”. In May 2011, Vusal Huseynov graduated from Harvard University with master’s degree in Public Administration. Along with his studies in HKS he also took part in year long Mason Program and received Mason Certificate on Public Policy.
