In 1979, after finishing high school (physical-mathematical school No. 52, Moscow), Vladimir Voevodin entered Moscow State University, the Faculty of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics, from which he graduated with honours in 1984. He was awarded the Candidate of Sciences degree in Physics and Mathematics in 1989, for an essay entitled “Macroanalysis of the Parallel Structures of Sequential Programming and Algorithms. In 1990, he was awarded the diploma from the university of Doctor of Science in Physics and Mathematics for his doctoral dissertation”Analytical and practical strategies to study the intricate structure of applications.In 2003, Voevodin was elected as a co-responding members of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Vladimir Voevodin has served at MSU since 1984. He began his career at the Computer Systems Laboratory, then in the year 1990, he joined the Research Computing Center at the Research Computing Center (MSU RCC) initially in the role of a researcher then as a senior researcher associate, before taking on his current position as Director Deputy of the MSU RCC in 1990. In 2013, Vladimir Voevodin was appointed to his current position as Director of the Supercomputers and Quantum Informatics Department, MSU CMC.
