G. High School, Ahmedabad, in 1984. He earned his B. E. (Mechanical) in 1988 from the Maharashtra Institute of Technology, Pune. He also has the M. B. A. in Finance. Kane was married to Aparna on January 27, 1994.

Kane began writing in the year 1992. The ghazal he wrote in 1994 appeared released for the very first time by Dhabak which is a Gujarati poet’s journal. He published his first collection of ghazals Kathpootali (The Puppet) in 2010, which was critically acclaimed by several Gujarati writers and poets including Bhagvatikumar Sharma, Rajesh Vyas ‘Miskin’, Rashid Meer and Vinod Joshi. He has translated the selected Gujarati poems into Marathi with Mangesh Padganvkar. This work was published as Anubhuti (2004). He has also translated two one-act plays of P. L. Deshpande into Gujarati.
