Mahadakar (born 30 November 1978) is a director of films who works in the Indian Film Industry. After working on various films for Mahesh & Mukesh Bhatt’s production house, Vishesh Films, Vishal was given a director’s debut by the Bhatt’s for the film Blood Money, which starred Kunal Kemmu and Amrita Puri.

Vishal produced “Blood Money” in 42 shooting days, as well as two weeks of postproduction. Mahesh Bhatt, impressed by Vishal’s work often posted on Twitter to praise Vishal by saying things like: “our brilliant new director” and so on. Blood Money was released on 30 March, 2012 and deemed to be a success at the box office within the first week of release with an estimated 11crores in nett in the first week.

After returning back to India around 1999 Vishal who was under the guidance of his father began his own IT business. He established ‘Mahadkar Infotech and established an Multi Media Training Centre, which , in addition to offering training, was also involved in Multi Media, Web Related and other projects which included software creation. Vishal was a fan of the creative side of the company and was the person who personally supervised every project executed within the firm. In this position, he was exposed to various technologies used in filmmaking, such as CGI, VFX and editing. As a film enthusiast Vishal’s love for filmmaking was slowly growing. Destiny is its own course! Vishal’s business in Information Technology had begun to take on water following the IT crisis in 2001. After many hours of contemplation and consideration, that despite the possibility of pursuing an entirely different career path, Vishal decided to give the world a glimpse of his untapped enthusiasm and ended his IT operations in 2003!

Vishal was part of Mohit’s team of directors on Kalyug (2005 film) as an assistant director in the junior category and was a close assistant studying the craft alongside Kunal Deshmukh who was also part of the team. Vishal was later promoted to First Assistant Director for the movie Woh Lamhe starring Kangana Ranaut and Shiney Ahuja. Vishal was then being monitored attentively by the Bhatt brothers. He was promoted to Chief Assistant Director on the movie “Awarapan”, starring Emraan Hashmi. It was in Awarapan that Vishal had the opportunity to spend lots of time with his mentor Mahesh Bhatt. Being able to see an aspiring director in his son the Bhatts were then able to promote Vishal to Associate Director in the Raaz 2. Raaz 2 Starring Emraan Hashmi and Kangana Ranaut. In this time, Vishal was not only being groomed, but was also being tested and also asked to be a part of projects with problems to take care of. Vishal did well and was on the path to becoming a film director.
