Vincenzo Di Mauro (born 1 December 1951) is an Italian Catholic Bishop, Archbishop-Bishop Emeritus of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Vigevano Prior to that, he had been an official with the Roman Curia. He was appointed Coadjutor Bishop of Vigevano which is a an area of the Province of Milan through the pope Benedict XVI on Monday, 22 November 2010 and conferred the “ad personam” (personal) title of Archbishop. The Archbishop succeeded bishop Claudio Baggini as Bishop of Vegevano on the 12th of March 2011. He was appointed Secretary for the Prefecture for the Economic Affairs of the Holy See and also as Titular Bishop for Arpi in 2007. He was consecrated a bishop through Pope Benedict XVI (principal consecrator) as well as the Cardinals Tarcisio Bertone and Marian Jaworski on the 29th of September, 2007. The Bishop was born in Monza and was consecrated a priest in Milan on June 12, 1976.
On the 21st of July the 21st of July 2012, he announced his resignation from his position as bishop of Vigevano. He resigned in only 16 months and citing concerns about his health. His resignation was accepted as per Canon 401 SS 2 of the Code of Canon Law. [2]
After his work as a parish priest in Milan He was appointed representative to the Ordinary Section of be responsible for the Administration of the Patrimony of the Apostolic See on 2 January 2004. He is fluent in English as well as French. He was appointed director of Prefecture for Economic Affairs of the Holy See in 2007. [1]
