Vincent Woboya Biography

Vincent Woboya is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on July 1, 1974 in Budadiri, Sironko District, Uganda. Woboya is born in Bumasifwa Village, located in the Sironko District, on 1 July 1974, in an Anglican family of five brothers and one girl. He was a part of the Dunga Clan of the Bamasaba His dad Francis Namugowa was a primary school teacher , and his mother was Zita Namugowa was the subsistence farm owner.

Then he was elevated as Assistant CAO in order to make his position an official in the civil service permanently. In 2000, after Sironko became a district Woboya was assigned to the district newly created where he remained in the same role until 2004, when Woboya was appointed to his position in the Ministry of Public Service as Senior Assistant Secretary to the Minister of State for Public Service.

In 2005, Woboya joined the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) and served as a Senior Assistant Secretary to the First Deputy Prime Minister. By 2010, he had served in that capacity as the P.A. to General Moses Ali and Professor Kabwegyere. In 2011, Woboya was appointed Principal Disaster Management Officer in the Office of the Prime Minister, a position he held until 2015 when he resigned to join elective politics.

Woboya is the NRM whip for Bugisu sub-region and is a member of both the Committee on Commissions, State Authorities & State Enterprises and the Committee On Presidential Affairs in the 10th Parliament of Uganda.

Woboya continued to attend Makerere University for his University studies, where he was awarded an Associate in Social Science in Political Science and Public Administration. When he was at Ivory Tower, Woboya served as an officer on the Guild Representative Council (GRC). He also was the chairperson of Budadiri Students Association and was an executive member of the Mbale Students Association (MUMBASA). In the same college of university education Woboya was awarded an Master of Public Administration in the year 2010.

Vincent Woboya (born 1 July 1974) is a Ugandan public administrator and disaster manager as well as a politician. He is the elected MP in Budadiri County East, Sironko District and also a representative of NRM the political ruling organization in Uganda.

Woboya began his post-academic job as research assistant the beginning of 1997 in the Planning and Development Department of Makerere University where he partook an opportunity to conduct research for two months. In the following year, he was appointed to Mbale District Local Government as an official of the Gombolola Sub-County during the time that Uganda was moving from a central governance system to a decentralized system and served in that position over two terms.

Woboya also holds an administrative law certificate (2003) from the Law Development Centre and a post graduate diploma (2005) in public administration and management from Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU).
