As of 2001, Crisostomo relocated to San Francisco to Guam to become the Director for the Coral Life Foundation, a community-based organization that works with HIV AIDS in the Asia-Pacific Area. Coral Life Foundation was the first non-governmental organization in the region to focus with HIV AIDS. In this role, Crisostomo convened representatives from the six Pacific Island Jurisdictions which included AIDS directors, program personnel and community stakeholder, along with capacity-building assistance providers subsidized through the Center for Disease Control (CDC) to discuss the status of HIV prevention and treatment services within their jurisdictions. Following these discussions, PIJAAG was created to promote in the direction of top-quality HIV prevention and treatment services as well as to provide advice to both international and local authorities about HIV AIDS issues within the region. Under the leadership of Crisostomo, PIJAAG has been a success in its advocacy, resulting in an increase of $600,000.00 of the regional HIV Prevention budget, funding of three planning grants for Care Services and baseline grants for services for those suffering from HIV. It was announced that the Coral Life Foundation closed in 2002 and was replaced by GuaHAN Project, otherwise known as GuaHAN Project, also known as the Guam HIV/AIDS Network.
The year 1992 was the time that Crisostomo began his career as an HIV AIDS educator for the Asian Pacific Islanders LGBTQ community through the GAPA Community HIV Project (GCHP) as well as the Asian AIDS Project, which was later amalgamated to form API Wellness Center. API Wellness Center. Guam’s World AIDS day in 1992 was also the day on which Crisostomo made history as the only Chamorro to openly declare as a person living with AIDS. Then he continued his journey to Guam and the Pacific region to assist with HIV AIDS capacity building and services.

Crisostomo began to do HIV AIDS work in 1985 while he was living working in New York City. One of his positions was at a nightclub in which patrons were beginning to get sick. He was a volunteer to make hospital visits for seriously ill HIV/AIDS sufferers. Crisostomo himself was diagnosed with HIV in 1987, and found himself confirmed to have AIDS at the age of 95.
Crisostomo met his partner Jesse Solomon in 1988 in New York City. Solomon was an occupational therapist who worked with children who were severely disabled and also worked as a yoga instructor and personal trainer. They relocated from San Francisco in 1990 and were among the first 50 couples of same gender to be registered at San Francisco City Hall. Solomon died on the 6th of October in 1991, of HIV/AIDS.
Crisostomo later became the Executive Director of 7 Sisters, a broad-based alliance of regional Asia Pacific HIV/AIDS networks based in Thailand. He also served as UN AIDS Asia Pacific NGO Delegate from 2009-2010.
