Between 1995 and 1997, he worked as a the project manager for Norwegian retailer chain “Varner Baltija” and manager of the real estate administration department in “Varner Hakon Invest”, both of which are part of Varner-Gruppen. These were among the first foreign investors to Latvia. Koziols was among the politicians and business leaders who created the “Baltic Stability Foundation”, an organization that aims to devise investments strategies that are suitable for Latvia and to develop an encouraging legislation for investment.
