After a break from the 2009 season because of having children, Tereshchuk returned in 2010 and placed second in the mixed relay competition in the World Championships in Chengdu, China and also finishing 16th in the individual event. She placed third at the European Championships before winning three medals at the World Championships in Moscow: gold in mixed and individual relays and bronze in the team relay with three members. In her capacity as World Champion, she qualified for the 2012 Summer Olympics she was named the Ukrainian Sportswoman of the Year, and received her the Order of Princess Olga in the Second class. In 2012, she competed in the World Championships in Rome, Italy However, she did not make it to the finals, and was eliminated before she could defend her title as an individual as well as finish 5th overall in the relay mixed. In the Olympic competition that year, she came 23rd out of the field of 36 competitors.

In the subsequent three European Championships, Tereshchuk finished 30th, 18th and 16th. She was also in 12th place at the World Championships in Warsaw, Poland. She won the first World Championship medal, silver at the 2006 event held in Guatemala City, Guatemala, however she dropped into the 26th and 34th places next year, during the European and World Championships respectively. In 2008, she placed 23rd in the individual event and 7th in the team of three relays during the 2008 World Championships in Budapest, however, she was the European Champion at a tournament that was held in Moscow. The result was her participation of the 2008 Summer Olympics in which she received an Olympic bronze medal in the women’s competition and finished behind Lena Schoneborn of Germany and Heather Fell of Great Britain. Then she was removed from the medal following being positive for the anabolic steroids turinabol and d-bol in an re-test for doping.
