From June 2008 to May 2009, Hamilton Barritt appeared as a part of her role on the UK touring production from Flashdance the Musical, playing the role of Alex, the main character’. A musical that was based on The 1983 movie Flashdance in which she was a part of the cast with Noel Sullivan, Bernie Nolan and Bruno Langley. In 2009 she toured together with Yusuf Islam (formerly known as Cat Stevens) performing songs from his musical Moonshadow. She sang backing vocals for the well-known musician at venues across in the UK and Ireland as well as finishing their tour in the Royal Albert Hall. In January of 2010 she was a “Rizzo” on the stage of Grease in the Piccadilly Theatre, with Noel Sullivan and Toby Anstis. From September 2010 to the beginning of January 2011 she appeared in the role of Alex Owens in the original West End production of Flashdance. She then starred in the actress in the role of Gypsy/Louise in Paul Kerryson’s version Gypsy on Leicester Curve in 2012 alongside Caroline O’Connor.

Following her graduation in 2001, Hamilton Barritt was part of the show Oh What a Night! in the role of Cat in this year’s UK tour. From September 2004 through September 2005, she was back in the West End to play the lead role of ‘CarmenDiaz in the show Fame on stage at the Aldwych Theatre. She was the character “Anita” in The 2006 International Tour of West Side Story traveling to Germany, Japan and Thailand. In 2007, she performed the role of Maria in the Susan’s role in the premiere staging of Desperately Seeking Susan at the Novello Theatre in the West End.
In 2013 Hamilton-Barritt appeared in A Chorus Line at the London Palladium as ‘Diana Morales’. She played the role of ‘Daniela’ in Lin Manuel Miranda’s In The Heights in 2014. The show won rave reviews opening at the Southwark Playhouse in London. The show was reworked and opened at The Kings Cross Theatre in the autumn of 2015 where she returned to the role of ‘Daniela’ while pregnant and retiring the role at eight months pregnant.
