Victoria Lorne Peta Borwick, Baroness Borwick (nee Poore, 26 April 1956) is a British politician from the UK. As a member of the Conservative Party, she served as the MP for Kensington from 2015 until 2017 before losing her seat, and becoming the very first MP sitting from Kensington to lose her seat to an opponent.

Borwick has been elected to Kensington and Chelsea London Borough Council in May 2002, for in the Abingdon Ward. She was appointed director of income Generation and Marketing for the Conservative Party in October 2002 with the intention of increasing the revenue coming from the base of supporters.

In the middle of the postponed mayoral selection, Borwick unsuccessfully ran for the selection to be the Conservative London Assembly candidate for West Central against Kit Malthouse. The Mayoral selection resumed in summer 2007, and Borwick was one of the final four candidates shortlisted. She finished second in the ballot, receiving 1,869 votes compared to the winner Boris Johnson’s 15,661 ballots. She later acted as a consultant in Johnson’s successful campaign.

Borwick was elected to the London Assembly as one of three London-wide members for the Conservatives after the 2008 election. She had been placed second on the Conservative list for the election after unsuccessfully seeking to become a prospective parliamentary candidate.

The month of September was 1999. Borwick got selected to be Conservative mayor Steve Norris’ running mate, and was also a potential deputy mayor candidate in the 2000 London Mayoral elections. Borwick was also offered an entry at the Conservative Party list for the London Assembly, although she failed in her attempt to be elected.

Born in London and raised through Wispers School. Formerly, Victoria Poore married Jamie Borwick on the 20th of March, 1981. She is the sole child of the Wing Commander Dennis Poore (died 1987) who was a part of the family known as the baronetage of the same name. Her husband succeeded her Uncle in 2007 in his capacity as the 5th Baron Borwick and was elected at the House of Lords, in 2013 in the form of one of the 92 elective hereditary peers. They have three daughters and three sons. The son of her daughter Thomas Borwick is a digital media strategist for the Conservative Party and the leave campaign.

Borwick was employed in the industry of event management throughout her career, and was also the event director for group events at the shipping firm P&O. She managed events for the Olympia Fine Art and Antiques Fairs as director from 1990 until 2001. In 2002, she was hired to assist with the International Fine Art Expositions’ New International Fine Art Fair in New York City.

In the run-up to the 2004 London Mayoral election, Borwick declared her intention to seek the Conservative mayoral candidacy. She made the shortlist but was not one of the final two in the selection, which included Steve Norris who received the nomination. She spoke subsequently at the 2003 Conservative Party Conference in support of Norris. In her speech she said of the incumbent Mayor Ken Livingstone that “you are the weakest link, goodbye”, alluding to her supposed resemblance with the television presenter Anne Robinson.
