Vicente Carrillo Fuentes Biography

Vicente Carrillo Fuentes is one of the most popular and richest Drug Trafficker who was born on October 16, 1962 in Navolato, Sinaloa, Mexico. Vicente Carrillo Fuentes was born in Guamuchilito, Navolato, Sinaloa, Mexico on 16 October 1962. He was the son of Vicente Carrillo and Aurora Fuentes. The family consisted of seven children: Angelica, Amado, Cipriano, Guadalupe, Alberto, Rodolfo and Jose Cruz Carrillo Fuentes (Vicente being the fourth). All of them are cousins to Ernesto Fonseca Carrillo, a former drug lord.

On June 1, 2000 The United States Department of the Treasury issued a sanction against Carrillo Fuentes in accordance with the Foreign Narcotics Kingpin Designation Act (sometimes called”the “Kingpin Act”), because of his involvement in the trafficking of drugs as well as eleven additional international criminals. The law prohibited U.S. citizens and companies from engaging in any business with him, and effectively froze all belongings of Carrillo Fuentes located in the U.S.

Cipriano Carrillo Fuentes died in the mid-1980s by gunshot under mysterious circumstances. Amado began in the drug business under the tutelage of his uncle and eventually formed the Juárez Cartel by 1993. Amado brought in his brothers and eventually his son Vicente Carrillo Leyva, who was arrested on April 1, 2009.

When Amado died on the 3rd of July 1997, following problems with plastic surgery an unending turf war broke out at Juarez over the control of the cartel. Vicente emerged as the victor after defeating Munoz Talavera brothers to gain controlling the cartel. Vicente joined forces with Juan Jose Esparragoza Moreno, his brother Rodolfo Carrillo Fuentes as well as Vicente’s nephew Vicente Carrillo Leyva, Ricardo Garcia Urquiza and the Beltran Leyva brothers. He served as lieutenants who were officially with his brothers, like “El Chacky” Hernandez.

Vicente Carrillo Fuentes (born October 16th 1962) is often referred to by his pseudonym El Viceroy, is a Mexican suspected drug lord who was the former leader of the Juarez Cartel, a drug trafficking organisation. The cartel is headquartered in Chihuahua and is one of the principal transport routes used by billions of dollars’ worth of illicit drug trafficking into to the United States from Mexico annually. He was among the most wanted drug lords in Mexico.

The group was in flux at the time Vicente assumed control of the cartel. The death of Amado resulted in a massive power vacuum within the Mexican underground. In the meantime, the Arellano Felix brothers established themselves as the most powerful organization in the late 1990s. Vicente could steer clear of any direct conflict and increase the power in the Juarez Cartel. The relations with and the Carrillo Fuentes clan as well as the various members in the group was unstable toward the end of the 1990s and the 2000s. After the 2001 escape of Joaquin Guzman Loera, many of the Juarez Cartel members defected to Guzman’s Sinaloa cartel.

In 2004 Rodolfo Carrillo was killed outside of a movie theatre allegedly at the behest of Guzmán Loera. Vicente Carrillo responded by having Guzmán Loera’s brother “El Pollo” assassinated in prison. This sparked off a turf war; however, it seemed that the war between the two was on hold during 2005 and 2006 because the Sinaloa Cartel was engaged in a vicious war with their rival, the Gulf Cartel. During this time, the leadership of the cartel was between Vicente Carrillo and Ricardo García Urquiza, who was arrested in November 2005. The cartel had become factionalized between the groups loyal to the Carrillo family and the groups loyal to Juan José Esparragoza Moreno and Guzmán Loera’s Sinaloa Cartel.
