Vasyl Petrovych Tsushko (Ukrainian: Vasil’ Petrovich Tsushko; born February 1 1963, in Nadrichne, Tarutyne Raion, Odessa Oblast) is a Ukrainian politician, politician and former minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, named on the basis of a quote from the Communist Party, and former Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

On the 24th of July, 2010 Tsushko assumed Socialist party the leadership position from Oleksandr Moroz however Moroz was elected to the post in August 2011.

In the 2014 Ukrainian presidential election Tsushko received 0.05% of the vote.

Tsushko headed the Ukrainian Economy Ministry from March till December 2010 and was appointed as head of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine on December 14, 2010. He was dismisses from the Antimonopoly Committee by the Verkhovna Rada on 26 March 2014.

Tsushko was appointed minister of Internal Affairs on December 1 in 2006, after the previous minister Yuriy Lutsenko was exiled by the Parliament. On the 26th of May 2007 Tsushko was diagnosed with a heart attack , and was admitted to hospital in serious state. According to certain Internet news reports, he was suffering due to an excess dose of methylxanthine. With his health declining and a subsequent flight to an emergency room in Germany. Tsushko’s girlfriend, Tetyana Montyan, stated that the heart attack was the consequence of poisoning. It is reported by the Interfax news agency reported that Vasyl Tsushko’s medical condition worsened during his stay in a medical clinic in Germany. On September 30 2007 Tsushko declared that he would quit his position as the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, because of the necessity of his rehabilitation for his health.

Vasyl Tsushko was born and raised in the tiny community in Nadrichne, Odessa Oblast in the Ukrainian SSR (now Ukraine) and is of mixed Ukrainian and Moldovan descent and speaks fluently in the Romanian language. The year 1982 was the time that Tsushko graduated from in the Izmail Vocational school of Mechanics and Electronics of Agriculture. From 1983 to 1985, Tsushko served in the Soviet Army. After completing the Army course in 1983, he began his studies in the economics faculty in Odessa Agriculture Institute. Between 1998 and 1996, Tsushko was the head of two Soviet farms. Between 1994 and 2002, Vasyl Tsushko served as a deputy for national government of the second, third and fourth convocations of Verkhovna Rada (Ukrainian Parliament). In 2005 his graduation in the National University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and was awarded the status of a lawyer. Since May 1997 the time he joined of the Socialist Party of Ukraine and the first Vice-President of the Committee of Bank and Financing of Ukraine. He was elected the chief of the Odessa Oblast Government Administration on the 3rd of February, 2005.

From July 2010 to August 2011 he was the party-leader of the Socialist Party of Ukraine.
