Tubagus Hasanuddin is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on September 8, 1952 in Majalengka, Indonesia. Tubagus was born in Majalengka, West Java, on the 8th of September, 1952, the fifth child in a family of nine. Tubagus’ father Sutisna was the village chief. He attended the junior and elementary high schools in Majalengka prior to moving to Magelang to finish their senior high schools. After that, he was enrolled at the Indonesian Military Academy, following an advice from his brother-in- law. The academy graduated him in the year 1974. He then attended Pasundan University [id] , receiving a bachelors degree, a masters degree and doctorate.
He continued to work in the TNI headquarters until his retirement in 2009.
Within the parliament, Tubagus was the deputy chairman of its first commission. In 2016, Tubagus criticized President Joko Widodo’s plan to grant amnesty to former GAM militant and armed group leader Din Minimi, stating that Din was a criminal prisoner instead of a political one and hence should not be granted amnesty.
Despite initially stating that he was not running, Tubagus ran as PDI-P’s gubernatorial candidate in the 2018 gubernatorial election for West Java, and resigned from his parliamentary post to do so, but he placed last with 2,773,078 votes (12.62%). He ran again in the 2019 legislative election, still as a PDI-P candidate from West Java’s 9th district. He was reelected to the body.
After his retirement from the military after a time, he joined PDI-P and was able to win a seat on the People’s Representative Council in the 2009 legislative election. The seat he was elected to represents his district of West Java 9th electoral district (Majalengka, Subang and Sumedang) and was reelected during the 2014 legislative election with 76,991 votes. In PDI-P in addition, he was appointed chairperson for West Java branch in 2010 and 2015. West Java branch in 2010 and in 2015.

Tubagus Hasanuddin (born 8 September 1952) is an Indonesian politician and former general who been an official of the People’s Representative Council between 2009 until 2018, and since 2019 to the until the present.
After graduation, Tubagus was assigned to Kodam III/Siliwangi. From 1992 to 1993, he sent to Iraq as a member of the Garuda Contingent. After a few months in Kodam Jaya and Kostrad, the adjutant was appointed of Vice President Try Sutrisno in 1996, after which he was appointed adjutant to President B.J. Habibie in 1998. He was in that position for a while and kept during the administration in the presidency of Abdurrahman Wahid. Habibie was later appointed the military secretary of new President Megawati Sukarnoputri. Following Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono took over as president and was elected president in November 2004.
Originating from Majalengka, Tubagus served in the Indonesian Army for over thirty years, working as adjutant or military secretary for four presidents before his retirement and entry into politics in 2009. He ran as a gubernatorial candidate in West Java’s 2018 gubernatorial election, but he placed last.
