Son from Marc Dumais and Kathleen Dumais, Troy Dumais has three brothers and a sibling: Justin (born on August 13, 1978), Brice (born July 2, 1984) 1978), Brice (born April 23 1981), Leanne (born July 2 1984), Dwight (born June 23rd in 1986). Marc Dumais was a professional French Canadian hockey player and tennis player. Troy Dumais previously trained under coaches Van Austin, Tom Scotty and Jeff Shaffer. The player also participated in football tennis, hockey and basketball.
In the 2000 Summer Olympics, Dumais placed 6th in the male’s springboard, and 4th in the men’s springboard synchronized with David Pichler. Dumais was 6th in the 2004 Summer Games Men’s 3m Synchronized Spring Board with his brother, Justin Dumais. Dumais also finished 6th in the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics in the Men’s 3m Individuals which was his third 6th-place Olympic finishing in the same row. Alongside diving teammates Kristian Ipsen and Kristian Ipsen, Ipsen won the silver medal for the Men’s 3m Synchronized Springboard at the 2009 World Aquatics Championships in Rome, Italy, and the bronze medal at the Men’s 3m Synchronized Springboard finals of the London 2012 Summer Olympics.
At the 2011 US National Championships in August, Dumais teamed with Kristian Ipsen to win the synchronized men 3-meter springboard at UCLA’s Spieker Aquatics Center.
In June 2012 Dumais gained the second spot representing the United States in the 3m springboard individual event at the London 2012 Summer Olympics the following month. He also, along with his 3m synchro partner Kristian Ipsen, qualified at the same U.S. Olympic Team Trials held in Federal Way, Washington to represent the United States at the games. In making the 2012 United States Olympic team, Dumais equals the record set by Greg Louganis of having been the only diver selected to represent the United States at four Olympiads.
Ipsen and Dumais were awarded bronze during the synchroized 3m event on August 1st with a score of 446.7. The duo’s gold medal, along with David Boudia and his partner Nicholas McCrory’s bronze on the platform that was synchronized their first Olympic gold medals to divers from the United States since 2000 and the first medal for an U.S male diver after 1996 at Atlanta at the time that Mark Lenzi won the bronze medal on the 3 meter springboard.

Troy Matthew Dumais (born January 21st in 1988) is an American diver who competes in the sport of competitive diving from California. Dumais has represented America in United States at the 2000 Summer Olympics as well as the in 2004, Athens Summer Olympics as well as the 2008 Summer Olympics and 2012 Summer Olympics which was the final one in where he took home the bronze medal for his team in the 3m synchronized. He was a student at in the University of Texas at Austin.
Dumais was born into an extended family of swimmers and divers He was awarded the Southern Pacific Association Diver of the Year in his class and his entire family.
Dumais was named USA Diving’s Athlete of the Year in 2006 and 1997. In 2006, he received the Sullivan Award, and in 2002 was the recipient of the Men’s All-Around Award. He was the 2002 NCAA Division I 1-meter and 3-meter champion, who was fifth on platform. He earlier received the 2001 Men’s All- Around Award at Indoor Nationals, 2001 NCAA 1-meter and 3-meter champion, 2000 NCAA 3-meter and 1-meter champion, platform silver medalist, and 1999 NCAA 3-meter champion and silver medalist on 1-meter and platform. He earned 19 junior titles, and currently holds the record for most junior titles. In addition, he placed third on platform at the 1996 U.S. Olympic Team Trials. Earlier in 1995, Dumais became the first U.S. junior diver to win two world junior titles since 1979 with gold medals on 1- and 3-meter. While at Buena High School, he was a four-time high school All-American and his team’s MVP.
