In 2007, Batchelor made the move to join the Elite League full-time with the Poole Pirates, whom he took on loan to King’s Lynn. He also signed with Polish side Unia Leszno in the Ekstraliga and was a part of their winning in 2007 the Ekstraliga Championship. The year 2008 was the time that Batchelor worked on loan with Swindon Robins and continued with Unia Leszno in Poland. He also joined Dackarna in Sweden’s Elitserien.
Batchelor made his Speedway Grand Prix debut in the Grand Prix of Poland II at the MotoArena Toruń in Toruń, Poland in 2013. Riding as a substitute in the meeting, he finished in 12th place scoring 6 points.
In January 2013 he won the Australian Championship after having finished second in both 2008 and 2010.
Batchelor was the first to begin the course of his British racing career on speedway in the year 2005 when he was signed by King’s Lynn Stars in the Premier League. In his debut season Batchelor was crowned the Premier League Knockout Cup and the Premier Trophy, with King’s Lynn defeated Rye House Rockets twice in finals. The following season, Batchelor returned to King’s Lynn. He was also the Elite League team Coventry Bees number 8 rider. The year that Batchelor was there, King’s Lynn won a treble of the Premier League Championship, Premier Trophy and the Premier League Knockout Cup. He also assisted in helping Coventry to win the Elite League Knockout Cup.

The birthplace of Troy Batchelor was Brisbane, Queensland, Troy Batchelor was a star in his debut when he was crowned the 2001 Queensland as well as New South Wales Under-16 championships and then followed that up with being the winner of his first Australian Under-16 Championship at the Bibra Lake Speedway in Perth. After moving up into the senior ranks upon the 16th birthday of his son, Batchelor won the Queensland State Championship in 2007 and then moving into Adelaide and South Australia where he has been the winner of the South Australian Championship at the Gillman Speedway five times (2008-2011 2012, 2008-2011). He is currently third on the SA championship winners list, behind the joint with record-holder John Boulger and the 1951 and 1952 World Champion Jack Young. Boulger and Young both won nine SA titles in the course of their careers.
Batchelor also took home also the Australian Long Track Championship in 2003 at the Bathurst Showground, and again in 2004 at the Wagga Wagga Showground.
In January 2008 he finished runner-up to Chris Holder in the Australian Solo Championship.
