Among these PSA World Tour title wins occurred from 2001’s Australian Open, Kuala Lumpur Open Squash Championships and Motor City Open which led to his best singles career ranking to 22 that same year. Tommy Berden retired from playing professional squash tournaments the latter part of 2006, aged 27 after undergoing surgery on his left right hand (right-handed) to repair tendons that had snapped. He also took on the management of events for PSA World Tours.
He married fellow popular Dutch squash player, Natalie Grinham on March 2006 who has represented both Netherlands and Australia at the international level. His wife, Natalie Grinham achieved her highest career ranking of World No.2 position in women’s singles on February 2007.
