Thomas Cullum Pyatt (born February 14 1987) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who is currently an unsigned free agent. He played for the SC Rapperswil-Jona LAkers from the National League (NL). He played previously with the NL with Geneve-Servette HC, and in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Montreal Canadiens, Tampa Bay Lightning and the Ottawa Senators. The player is the son of ex- NHL athlete Nelson Pyatt and brother of former hockey star Taylor Pyatt.
After being selected and then drafted, he re-joined his home in the OHL for two additional seasons. In the final stretch of an 81-point season for Pyatt during the fourth major junior game of his career, 2006-07 the Rangers signed Pyatt to a three-year entry-level contract on the 12th of March 2007, 2007. After this season, he received The William Hanley Prize, which is the OHL’s most sportsmanlike player having played just 18 minutes of penalty time.
On June 30, 2009, Tom was traded from the New York Rangers, along with Scott Gomez and Michael Busto, to the Montreal Canadiens for Chris Higgins, Ryan McDonagh, Pavel Valentenko and Doug Janik.
Pyatt became an unrestricted free agent after the 2010–11 season and on July 6, 2011, he signed a one-year deal with the Tampa Bay Lightning. On January 9, 2012, he signed a two-year extension with the Lightning.
Pyatt split his debut professional season of 2007-08 with the Rangers Minor league affiliates called the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League (AHL) scoring 14 points over 41 games. He also played for Charlotte Checkers of the ECHL scoring 15 points over 16 games.

Pyatt began his playing career with The Thunder Bay Kings AAA program in his hometown of Thunder Bay, Ontario, along with New York Rangers defenceman Marc Staal. He started his major junior career in 2003-2004, being drafted in the second-round, 21st overall, in the 2003 OHL Priority Selection by the Saginaw Spirit. After a 48-point performance in Saginaw Spirit during his first OHL season He was selected 107th all-time in the NHL Entry Draft by the New York Rangers.
In the third OHL campaign playing for Saginaw Spirit, in his third OHL season Saginaw Spirit, Pyatt was selected as a representative of Team Canada at the 2006 World Junior Championships in Vancouver and helped them win winning a gold medal as tournament’s host nation. The following year was his return back to Team Canada for the 2007 World Junior Championships in Leksand. Pyatt played a key role in helping Canada beat Russia by a score of 4-2, securing his second consecutive gold-medal (as well as the third consecutive gold medal in an eight-year span).
On November 5, 2009, he made his NHL debut against the Boston Bruins. On February 10, 2010 he scored his first NHL goal and assist on Michal Neuvirth of the Washington Capitals in a 6–5 Montreal Canadiens overtime win.
