Since his first election in the year 2010, O’Mara has never faced any serious challenge, and he ran without opposition in 2012 and in 2014. The most notable election was 2016 when he beat Democrat Leslie Danks-Burke by 55% to 45 percent. He was able to win a second term in 2018.
