Thomas James Lawless (born December 19th 1956, in Erie, Pennsylvania) is an ex- Major League Baseball player who was a player between 1982 and 1990. He was a part of players from the Cincinnati Reds, Montreal Expos, St. Louis Cardinals as well as the Toronto Blue Jays.
On the 10th of May 1989, as he was playing with the Toronto Blue Jays, Lawless hit a ninth-inning single that ended an attempt to strike out Mark Langston of the Seattle Mariners.
He was the interim manager of the Houston Astros in 2014.
Lawless had only hit two home runs during the regular season in his career, will also be famous for his incredible go-ahead homer in Game 4 of 1987’s World Series (he had hit .080 in his 25 at-bats in the season.) Lawless was raised living in Erie, Pennsylvania, attending Strong Vincent High School and Penn State Behrend, where Lawless played baseball between 1975 and 1978.

In 2011, Lawless was managing the Corpus Christi Hooks of the Texas League. On September 1, 2014 after the Astros fired Bo Porter, Lawless was hired as the interim manager. As interim manager with Houston, he had a record of 11 wins and 13 losses.
