Thomas Christopher Henry (born November 8th 1951) is an American politician and businessman who has been elected the 35th Mayor for Fort Wayne, Indiana. An active part of the Democratic Party, Henry served five terms on the Fort Wayne City Council from 1984 until 2004, representing his district 3rd. Henry is President and CEO of the Gallant Group, an insurance agency that specializes in healthcare consultancy.

Henry was the winner of the Democratic primary for the mayoral seat on May 8th in 2007, winning 82.4 percentage of vote , despite an opposition of a token. Henry defeated Republican Matt Kelty in the November election, receiving 60% of the votes.

On December 15, 2008, Henry signed the revised noise ordinance passed by city council, making light pollution a violation of city ordinance. “Although I have concerns about this ordinance, it is up to council to decide what legislative action is appropriate for our community,” Henry said in a written statement.

Henry was reelected on November 8, 2011, with 49.9 percent of votes against the Republican challenger Paula Hughes’ 46 percent.

Henry was the representative of his district of the Third District for five terms on the Fort Wayne City Council between 1984 between 1984 and 2004. He was succeeded by Republican Roy Schomburg. Henry was reelected in 1995 with just five votes when the outcome was determined through recount. He was disqualified from running for the sixth time in 2003.
