On June 5, 2013, Palankov was signed by Cherno More Varna as a free agent. His second Cherno More debut on 19 July, playing as an unused substitute for his previous team Chernomorets Burgas, on the debut day of the 2013-14 season. On December 7, Palankov scored a last-minute victory goal in the win 2-1 against Neftochimic Burgas. On May 29, 2017 the contract was ended through mutual consent.

Palankov started his career at Litex Lovech where he made 37 A PFG appearances. The first time he played was on the 13th of March 2004 with a 1-0 victory at home against Pirin Blagoevgrad and scored his sole strike at Litex in a match against Rilski Sportist on the 13th of August 2006. While at Litex He was on loan with Belite orli, Vidima-Rakovski and Cherno More prior to becoming a part of Pirin Blagoevgrad on a permanent basis in the summer of 2007.
As of December 9, Palankov said he was going to sign an agreement precontractual deal with Chernomorets Burgas. On the 12th of January, 2010 Palankov signed a contract for three years, joining the team at beginning of the 2010-11 season. The first time he played was on the 21st of August, 2010, making his debut as a substitute in the second half of an 1-0 victory at home over Vidima-Rakovski. Palankov was released from Chernomorets at the conclusion of the 2012-13 campaign, after which his contract was due to expire.
