Tina Cross is one of the most popular and richest Singer who was born on January 27, 1959 in Otara, New Zealand. When she was in 1974, her best friend, Kim Hart, encouraged Cross to join musical performances at the school with the band Chalkdust and the duo performing together. The group in 1975 sat in for a talent show on television called Opportunity Knocks and while the group was not selected, the producers were impressed enough with 16 -year-old Cross to give her a one-year deal where she learned the art of singing. Cross began presenting herself to a nationwide public through popular television shows like Smile as well as Once More With Feeling.
It was in 1980 that Cross returned to represent New Zealand in the Pacific Song Contest, this time performing a duet Derek Metzger titled, “Once Again With You”, winning second place. Cross began work on a new studio album. The shift from disco to new wave eventually was unsuccessful as the record, Tina X, did not make it to the top of the charts.
In 1984 she teamed up with composer-pianist Leon Berger and formed Koo De Tah. They had a hit with “Too Young for Promises” in 1985 which made it to 6 on the Australian charts, two further singles “Body Talk” and “Think of Me” were released and a self-titled album in 1986. The group disbanded in 1987.
Following Koo De Tah, Cross launched a corporate cabaret act and toured India and Asia before returning to Auckland in 1990.

In 1977, Cross performed for a short time as dancer on the television program, Top of the World and also appeared on a number of shows on Ready to Roll, where she sang some of the most pop hits of today. In 1978, Cross was awarded the award for rising star during the Entertainer of the Year awards.
As of 1979, Cross recorded four hits that all made the top 50 on the New Zealand charts. The 4th single “Nothing But Dreams” came out as her New Zealand entry into the 1979 Pacific Song Contest, which was the winner. Cross made her debut album of studio work The You Can Do It in 1979.
