Timothy “Tim” Yap (born on 17th January 1977) is a Filipino broadcaster and TV host, editor of newspapers columnist, creative director, club owner and event coordinator who hails from Manila, Philippines. He also runs numerous establishments across the Philippines. He is currently host of the Tim Yap Show which airs every week night on GMA-7 and edits a pop-culture section on The Philippine Star entitled “Supreme” as well as hosted the morning talk show The Playground on 99.5 PLAYFM.

The Tim Yap Show was launched on GMA-7 and featured Yap as host of the show, which is titled after him. The show has just entered its 3rd season that premiered on in October. 28th, 2013. Apart from appearances on TV He also hosted the morning radio talk show The Playground on 99.5 PLAYFM alongside Sam Oh and Nikko Ramos.

Tim Yap was the youngest of seven kids. While attending high school at Saint Jude Catholic School, he won the lead role in Lost in Yonkers, which marked the 25th anniversary of the Repertory Philippines, but his parents and his school didn’t allow him to go, so he attended rehearsals in secret, informing the school security guard that he had the permission of his teacher and principal to leave school. “My parents had no clue that I was going to Repertory,” he said. “All along they thought that I was just attending a rehearsal for a school play until they read about it in the newspapers.” After several roles for young characters, Yap continued on as a production intern for repertory plays just to be involved. He eventually evolved into an events producer, which led him to be sought after to handle product launches and fashion shows.

Tim Yap hosted the Metro Manila Film Festival Awards in the years 2010 and 2011. He was host of Miss World Philippines in 2011.
