In September 2008 Guinness World Records certified that “Soba ni Iru ne” was the top-selling song for digital downloads in Japan with more than the two millions “full-track” downloads (Chaku Uta Full). With a variety of electronic downloads, the song had sold more than 8.7 million downloads as of November 2008. This Guinness record was eclipsed by the song of Greeeeen “Kiseki” in June 2009.
In 2010, she sang with the Taiwan pop group Da Mouth in a duet with the female lead singer Aisa, on the song “Secret Life”. The song appears on the album Da First Episode.
Aoyama’s single “Kaeru Basho” was released on 3 March 2010. The song was used in the movie Doraemon: Nobita’s Great Battle of the Mermaid King. This single features SoulJa, and has a B side called “Anata ga Kiechaisode”. Summer Love!! featuring Red Rice came out in 2010.
In the early part of the year 2008 Aoyama came out with an alternative song for the hit single “Koko ni Iru yo” by SoulJa. She also released her own track titled “Soba ni Iru ne” that also featured SoulJa. The two songs are identical, and have the identical chorus. However, the track “Soba ni Iru ne” was more well-known than “Koko ni Iru yo” and debuted at No. 3 in its initial week in the Oricon charts, and then in its second week , it climbed to No. one on charts. “Soba ni Iru ne” continued to be at the Top 5 ranking for 7 consecutive weeks. It was the top-selling female single (strictly an duet) in the Oricon annual charts for 2008.
