Terry William “Igor” Randall (born 5 February 1951 in Sydney, New South Wales) is an Australian former player in the Australian rugby league who played for the Manly Warringah club as part of the New South Wales Rugby Football League premiership. He also played for New South Wales and Australia. He made his debut in the year 1970 as a centre and then in 1972 he was promoted to forwards by Coach Ron Willey, primarily playing in the second row.
It is ironic that Randall did not take part in an the actual test match of his time in international competition. All of his international matches for the Australian team were played between 1977 and 1975 World Cups of Rugby, however, the statistical analysis of (since the year 1995) World Cup games are considered to be test matches.
The Open Rugby inaugural World XIII was revealed in June 1978, it was; Graham Eadie, John Atkinson, Steve Rogers, Jean-Marc Bourret[1], Green Vigo, Roger Millward, Steve Nash, Jim Mills, Keith Elwell, Steve Pitchford, Terry Randall, George Nicholls and Greg Pierce.
Randall was selected for the 1978 Kangaroo tour, but pulled out of the squad citing exhaustion after Manly’s arduous finals campaign in 1978 where the Sea Eagles played 6 matched in 24 days, including the drawn Grand Final against Cronulla-Sutherland and the replay played just three days later. Randall later regretted his decision not to tour with the victorious 1978 Kangaroos.
Randall was chosen to join the Australian team during the 1973 Kangaroo tour, however his broken thumb on the tour cut him off to just five minor games and he didn’t take part in a test. He made his debut for Australia in the 1974 World Cup, playing in the front row of Australia’s victory of 36-8 against New Zealand at Lang Park and scoring a goal on his debut. He then played at 11 times in international matches for Australia during his playing career The last one came in Australia’s 13-12 victory over Great Britain at the SCG in the 1997 World Cup.

At first, he was a centre who could be a tough tackling player who was classified by the Sea Eagles before making his debut as a grade player in the year the year 1970, against St George at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Randall scored a goal on his debut, but it was a loss for the Sea Eagles lost 22-14. Randall was a second row player during Manly’s first NSWRFL premiership victory in 1972. He followed that win up with playing Manly’s 1973, 1977 and 1978 premiership wins.
Randall was a debutant in the national team of New South Wales on the sidelines during an uncommon 10-11 loss against Queensland in the Sydney Sports Ground in 1972. Randall would go on to be a part of The Blues 13 times during his playing career. He played his final interstate game in the NSW’s 12-11 victory against Qld in Lang Park in 1978.
Terry Randall first played for NSW City in 1976, scoring a try in City’s 46-0 thrashing of NSW Country at the SCG. He went on to represent City again in both 1977 and 1978.
